Pro and accounts
DataCraft Studio is one app for everyone. Both plans need an account: a free one is enough for Free. Signing in with a DataCraft Pro account unlocks the Pro features in the same app.
What Pro adds
- Visual query builders
- Query history and a saved workspace
- Guided data import wizard
- Data migration between engines
- Provider health checks
- AI assistant with your choice of model provider
In Free, these show as Requires Pro under Settings → Features.
Getting Pro
Registering with your email creates a Free account. DataCraft enables Pro on that account after a Pro purchase is arranged. Registration alone does not unlock Pro.
- Open Settings → Features → Plan and choose Sign in to unlock Pro.
- The sign-in page opens in your web browser. Sign in, or create an account, and verify your email—an unverified email can't sign in.
- Open a Pro request. Issues are public: give your email partly hidden (for example
s****@gmail.com) and the day you signed in. Never post a password. - After DataCraft enables Pro on your account, sign out and sign in again. Settings → Features → Plan shows Pro, and the Pro features unlock.
DataCraft never sees your password. The browser signs you in and hands the app a signed proof of your plan, which the app verifies itself.
The one-computer license
A Pro license is for one person on one computer at a time.
- Moving to another computer: sign in there. The license moves, and the previous computer is signed out the next time it checks in.
- Moving back and forth very often within a short period is blocked, to stop accounts being shared. If you hit the limit, sign out on the other computer, or open a Pro request.
- Freeing a computer straight away: open your profile and choose Sign out this device.
A copied sign-in doesn't work on a second computer, and copying the app's files to another machine gives Free there.
Working offline
- Pro checks your plan when the app starts and every few hours while you're online.
- Without internet, Pro keeps working for up to three days since the last successful check.
- After that the app runs as Free until it can reach the account service again. Nothing is lost—reconnect and Pro returns.
- Changing the computer's clock does not extend the offline period.
Signing in again
For security, a sign-in expires after a set period even if you use the app daily. When it does, the app returns to Free until you sign in again from Settings → Features → Plan.
Signing out
Open your profile and choose Sign out this device. This:
- ends the session and frees the license for another computer;
- removes the sign-in data from this computer;
- keeps your connections, queries, workspace and settings.
Privacy
Signing in sends your email, name and an anonymous device identifier to the account service— never your databases, queries or connection details. See the privacy policy.

Updates
Pro installs check for new versions and offer Install and restart when one is ready. On Free, run the new installer over your current version. Your connections and settings are kept.
